The Shelter in the Swelter
Imagine yourself standing on a ladder or painting the side of a building when the heat index is 111 degrees and there's not a drop of shade in sight. That's what our trusty Sheriff's Trustees have been doing this past week and the week before that. We are so fortunate to have a dedicated crew of guys to help us keep this building project moving along.

A great big animal shelter thanks to all of you who voted for us in June for the Pepsi Refresh Everything grant. It was great to see how many people in this county and around the world were rooting for us to win. We placed 109 out of 401 contenders, not too shabby even if we do say so ourselves.

No News is....?
If it seems there has been little to no news reported here lately it's because there hasn't been (news reported). It doesn't mean we've stopped working. We've shifted for the moment from construction to talking to our county commissioners. We want to find out where they stand on the subject of the animal shelter.
Do you know where your commissioner stands? If not, give him or her a call and find out. It's that simple.
Letter From Chelsea
Hey, all you folks in New Tazewell, did you recently recieve a letter from Chelsea and the Realty Group requesting a donation to the shelter? If you did, we hope you'll consider helping us out. We've got the building itself nearly finished (it'll probably be done by the end of July) but we still have to furnish the animal holding areas with kennel gates, cat cages, food bowls, and a whole slew of other stuff.
If you live in Claiborne County outside the New Tazewell zip code, do not fear. Chelsea has her little doggy pen out and is writing a letter to send to you.
If you're thinking about what to give, remember our motto: no donation is too large, no donation is too small.
Every dollar goes 100% toward getting our shelter built. And it's tax deductible!
